Want some new recipe ideas? Ones that pass the picky person test? At least, they pass that test in my family and I hope you’ll like them too. I made all of these recipes at my class called “Healthy Mama’s Go-To Recipes” and all the moms loved them. They are tasty, whole food, simple recipes and the kids liked them, too. Here’s a link to a pdf that contains the following recipes:

  • Banana-Oat Superfood Smoothie
  • Overnight Oats with Chia Seeds
  • Lettuce Wraps with Sprouts
  • Sweet Potato Toast
  • Maple-Cumin Black Beans
  • Chocolate Bliss Balls

Here are a few tips with these recipes:

  • Make the smoothie, drink what you want, and freeze the rest for later. You can also make a delicious chocolate version simply by adding some cacao or cocoa powder.
  • Raspberry Overnight OatsYou can make the overnight oats the night before you want to eat them, which is what I usually do, but you can also make them an hour or so ahead of time. You just want to give the chia time to soak up some of the liquid. This recipe is fun to play with! Add different nuts, berries, and toppings and find out what you love best. I love raspberry overnight oats as well as chocolate walnut overnight oats. Don’t wait to try this recipe. I knew about it for a year before I finally tried it. It just sounded weird and gross, but once I tried it, I loved it and it’s a staple meal now. 🙂
  • For the lettuce wraps, you can use romaine leaves or cabbage leaves or pretty much anything that will hold together. You can sprout your own alfalfa sprouts easily by soaking them for 8 hours or so and then rinsing them 3-4 times a day for a 3-4 days. They taste especially good with tuna.
  • Sweet Potato toast is super easy and yummy. Here’s a short video showing how to make it.
  • Maple-cumin black beans are quick, easy, and yummy. The maple syrup, cumin, and soy sauce combine to make a unique flavor. It’s a crowd pleaser here in Southwest Colorado where beans are well loved.
  • Chocolate Bliss BallsFinally, Chocolate Bliss Balls are amazing! They are delicious and very energizing. Between the sugar in the dates, the protein in the nuts, and the energizing superfood “maca”, you have a very, very energizing treat! Seriously, I don’t eat them after 3pm because I can’t get to sleep if I do. And the first time I ate them, I spontaneously went on a 3 mile walk just because I had so much energy. This is another recipe you can play with by changing up the nuts and switching dried fruit for the dates.

Also, here’s a link to my post about my go-to gluten free recipes. It has a link to a pdf with great GF recipes for those of you who are gluten free or know someone who eats gluten free. If you have any questions about the recipes or have some favorites you’d like to share, contact me here.
