What's for Dinner? What do you do to relieve stress around mealtime? Have you ever thought, “What should I eat”, go to the fridge, and find … nothing appetizing? Do you grab whatever is there regardless of how healthy it is?

I joke that I can always tell you what’s for dinner at my house: Whatever’s fastest! 🙂

Since I’m somewhat of a health nut, that means that taking some time to meal plan and prep is essential. Why? When I meal plan and prep, the things that are fastest at dinner are always healthy options I can feel good about feeding myself and my family.

Today I’m sharing a meal planning webinar offered by my health coach, Sarah Klein. She says that meal planning is one of the most important health habits people can develop.

Meal planning and prep increase your likelihood of

  • getting enough fruits and veggies in your daily diet.
  • having health foods on hand when you’re hungry throughout the week.
  • not losing it when someone asks:

“What’s for dinner?”

So here it is, a 51-minute meal planning webinar. In the first part, Sarah shares several wonderful tips that I highly recommend. In the second part, she walks you through planning a week’s worth of meals. One thing she tells listeners is to make a backup meal plan for weeks when you’re super busy or don’t have time to plan your meals. That’s what I did during the webinar. Now I have that simple-and-easy plan to fall back on, and I’m grateful for it, especially during the summer.

Another note here, I have done meal planning and prep for over a year and can attest to how stress-relieving it truly is. I used to stress about dinner every single day. I’d get a niggling feeling shortly after lunch that I needed to do something important. I’d try to ignore it, but soon had to face the fact that I had no idea what I’d be feeding my family that night. Then, I’d procrastinate until dinner time when I couldn’t put it off any longer. Talk about stress!!!

Now, I can almost always answer the question, “What’s for dinner?” with confidence. I love it so much that I want the same for everyone reading this post.
